PROJECT DETAILS

As part of Metallica’s triumphant return to Toronto on the M72 tour, we were honoured to be commissioned to create a monumental heritage wall chronicling the band’s 40-year concert history in Ontario. It all began with their first-ever Ontario performance in Ottawa on January 18, 1985—just two days after their Canadian debut in Montreal. We dove headfirst into various archives, collaborating with collectors, tapping into databases, and connecting with die-hard superfans to assemble a stunning collection of rare concert memorabilia and artifacts. Anchored by a lightning bolt timeline, the display mapped every Metallica show in the province from 1985 to the present—complete with fan anecdotes, vintage photos, original posters, and more. The final product was printed on specialized cloth and mounted across three 8-by-10-foot rails, installed in the band’s green room during the Toronto stop. It became the most comprehensive visual tribute to Metallica’s history in Ontario ever assembled—and the band loved it so much, they had it shipped to their San Francisco headquarters, where it will be permanently housed!
